Lana Del Rey – Lust For Life ALBUM REVIEW

Listen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-NTv0CdFCk&ab_channel=LanaDelReyVEVO

While Lust for Life might be Lana Del Rey’s weakest attempt at reconciling her old school and new school influences, it’s also the first time I’ve come away from one of her albums with more highlights than lowlights.

Seculary Talkthano with those secular talk talking points.

You need to get HIGH and listen to this album. Weed, pills, SOMETHING. The whole thing wasn’t meant to be highly intellectual and nitpicked. It was meant to be chill and relaxing like a 60’s, 70’s folk era protest music meets the modern equivalent. It becomes a lot more beautiful when you go with the whole Woodstock/Coachella vibe. Basically an album about history repeating itself— the world gets tough with politics and war, and Lana, writing from the perspective of a young person trying to emotionally cope. Personally I LOVE this album because it is less dark and emotional and I get to enjoy Lana doing LOADS of different music styles. I love the influences she borrows from because she has broad taste. She loves that folk rock and she loves chill rap and hip hop. Album is more like the more relaxed brainstormings and laments that would occur to someone hanging out at a festival and reflecting… not orchestral poetic etc. Anyway, take the stick out of your ass.

Jason Shelton says:

Harsh! I loved Lust for Life so much.

Karoum says:

You have no idea what you’re talking about, mr. so-called music critic. Amateur review (yes its your opinion, doesn’t make it right though). Learn to keep your emotions of a person away from your reviews. Although this was more of a positive review, you clearly don’t understand this album, or LDR in general for that matter. At all. Your previous reviews of her other albums are so dumb and as professional as you make them sound, they are not. But you know, what ever makes you sleep well at night. 🙂

Facu Jordan says:

Sometimes I think that I’m the only one who thinks that Honeymoon y her best album. For me it had a clear direction with a vintage instrumentation most of the time, and themes of stories about fictional characters like the girlfriend of a ganster like in Salvatore, etc. I think it was the album in where the vocals matched the instrumentation the most imo.

Ari Sinudom says:

YOU GIVE THIS ALBUM AND MBDTF THE SAME RANKING????

Connor Campbell says:

I wanna see Lana rate you, she’d give you a 4 bitch

Emilio Lara says:

I thought I’d love his reviews, but he actually talks way too much. It would be nicer if he played the tracks while he comments on them. But, oh, well. I got fed up with his voice and his enunciation too fucking fast.

JEZZÜS says:

Looks like my guy is bout to catch these hands

Shadow Night says:

He’s that one person who hates all the good music

Bri Celeste says:

opened description, disliked, commenting, and now leaving.

Joffery Hollsworth says:

Very fair analysis

Bishop Bryant says:

You look really dumb by calling her shallow and going on a rant about Coachella-Woodstock In My Mind because she wasn’t talking about worrying about the kids at Coachella… its like you want to hate her so bad lol.

Cayden Caplinger says:

You should react to some of her unreleased songs

RJ Rycraw says:

How can you NOT like White Mustang? Honeymoon was definitely her worst album.

Jennifer Olivito says:

So what do you actually like

hwykiddd says:

summer bummer is the best song

MonstersCousin says:

I just spent over 12 minutes listening to a person who’s just rambling about things he doesn’t understand … Man , please, just shut up if you’re not aware of what your saying.

P.S.: throw away those glasses…. you look just plain stupid… get some lenses …

Melissa Aguilera says:

when you watch this just to hate Lana

Matt Hansley says:

Uhm I think she was just worried about the people at Coachella because of all the terrorism that’s been happening I know this is late but this album is fantastic 10/10 would buy again and again and again and again and again

david pirela says:

It stopped being a constructive criticism when he starts to practically talk shit about the lyrics and sounds he just didn’t like or understood

Sage Jeffrey says:

YOU KNOW NOTHING LMAO

Crazy Kobold says:

Otherwise decent album, ruined by black people.

Rae K says:

The first half of this album fucked me up, the last half (except change) could have been fricken cut

Eduardo Penaran says:

I loved the album regardless

Anna says:

i actually really like summer bummer

Jesucristo Maestro de sombreros says:

Congrats Melon you triggered the fuck out of the Lana fanbase. Laughing reading all these comments.

david pirela says:

Dude how the hell do you critic a song by understanding it the way you fucking could, If that’s the deal then I’ll just understand everything The way i want and critisize it like it is the right way , like pls cmon

Lisa Simpson says:

What a dumb review.

G Graham says:

6/10? boi

Ben Brandon says:

I’m a huge Lana fan and I agree with most of this wow

bhr says:

I feel melon just don’t get lana shtick. but his criticism is not bad, i think her best album to date is honeymoon, because is it’s more coherent. LFL is good, but the trap and folk constrast feels little bit out of place sometimes, although i really think cherry is gorgeous and white mustang whistle is not corny at all.

Rickest Rick says:

It’s funny, the worst songs on the album are the hits. I wouldn’t mind the Asuck Rocky and the never ending Weekend songs and other techy trap songs had she come out with like a double album. She could’ve even thrown a makeover of her old Paradise song on the “current” bs album, it’d fit. Almost half these songs simply don’t belong. They appeal to the LCD and dumb kids. I don’t hate her for the money grab, it’s not the Lana I want to heart or pay for.

Daenerys Targaryen says:

I’ve been a fan of lana since the release of Born to Die, other fans have been a lana fan since she released Ultraviolence, and all those fans hate Lust for Life and Honeymoon, am I seriously the only fan here that loved Lust For Life more than any other album
