Album Review 70: Julie London – About the Blues

In today’s video, we chat about this bluesy album dedicated to all things blue. It’s full of melancholy, sadness, weariness and sometimes, hope. They had a goal in mind to make a cohesive album, and they followed through for sure! What do you guys think of it?

Thomas Calden says:

One of the things that I like about your channel is that it prompts me to dig out music that I haven’t played in awhile… I have not heard this particular album, but I do have her debut LP, “Julie Is Her Name”, (do you have that one?) -which features her big hit “Cry Me A River”. She is only accompanied by guitar and bass throughout the album, and it makes for great late night listening, but because of it’s sameness, one album side is usually enough… I tend to play her compilation LP, “Julie’s Golden Greats” more, because it has more variety.. Nice review.
