Hey Friends! In this video we’ll be taking a look at Robert Crumb and Jerry Zolten’s “Chimpin’ the Blues” Album on vinyl record. This is a fantastic album because it feels like an hour long radio broadcast between 2 guys who really love old records. Both Jerry and Robert are avid 78 record collectors and they provide heaps of great commentary on this album about many different subjects. Everything from old jazz music, to gospel, blues and even the great string bands of the 1930’s. This album is a real treat to listen to late at night with a good pair of headphones. The vinyl record itself is georgeous to look at as well. Check out the video above to see what I mean!

Hi Viny, how are you? I´m a Brazilian fan of yours. I really enjoy all your videos. I´m setting up a youtube channell for Brazilians, but I will not talk about records and turnatable, although I have a 80´s turnatable and receiver. :))) By the way, could you tell wich microphone do you use in your videos and how do you edit the audio? Thanks a lot

You’re more than welcome man! I’m so happy to hear that you enjoyed the record! I own the CD version, and it’s by far one of the best recorded works that I own on any form of physical media. I absolutely love anything blues or R. Crumb related. lol

Docjive says:

Tim Allen says:

Kyle Lees says:

*Jarrett lol sorry

Fat City Vinyl says:

Kind of ironic that Crumb doesn’t listen to any modern music when he did those great album covers like for Janis Joplin in the 60’s! Very cool record and gorgeous pressing.

That LP looks really interesting, I’ve got to check this out. Thanks I would of never heard about this record if it wasn’t for this video.
