love this album:) preordered the limited edition bundle, which cost $150AUD (I thought the cart was in our currency, it wasn’t). I don’t really like “pass the baby” and “integrity blues” but that is just me:) can’t wait for my copy to hit Brisbane:) can’t wait to see the signed lithograph.
Maybe I missed it, where was You Are Free in the review? Huge fan and this was easily my favorite song on this really good album.
Great review, definitely well thought out. Gotta disagree with Pretty Grids and Pass the Baby though, for me they’re two of the biggest standouts of the album because they fill a gap that’s been missing from their albums since Futures, that sort of darker tone brings back way too many memories.
I skip those middle songs half the time when I listen. I think it’s an album fit thing because I actually like them on their own together.
I thought Pass The Baby is wonderful song. It goes from real Depeche Mode sounding to hard as nails
Great review Christian! By the way it’s pronounced “Pole Roshay” 🙂
I’m with you on Pretty Grids. That one just didn’t work. They should have scrapped it. Totally disagree with you on Pass the Baby. It requires patience, but it pays off. That’s how the song is designed.
