Planete Blues 2 The Best Of Blues Rock Album Review

Thanks a lot for watching “Planete Blues 2 – The Best Of Blues Rock”. Alright, I bought this CD a very long time ago back on Germany. As far as I was able to conclude, I don’t think Planete Blues 2 – The Best Of Blues Rock was ever released outside of Europe. If you have different information, please let me know. I cannot remember anymore why I actually bought this album, but I guess it was probably offered as some sort of special deal or offer.

While the first CD in the “Planete Blues Series– The Best Of Blues Rock” arguably makes sense as far as the compilation of tracks is concerned, this second part is definitely a little bit odd to say the least. Because I don’t think that the tracklist would lend itself to be considered for a best of blues rock compilation.
Anyway, here is the track list:

1. Got My Mojo Working – Muddy Waters
2. Spoonful – Etta James
3. Suzy Q – Dale Hawkins
4. I’m Ready – Muddy Waters
5. Sitting On Top Of The World – Howlin’ Wolf
6. Big Boss Man – KokoTaylor
7. Walking Blues – Willie Dixon
8. Dust My Broom – Elmore James
9. Built For Comfort – Howlin’ Wolf
10. Bright Lights, Bright City – Jimmy Reed
11. Good Morning Little Schoolgirl – Ten Years After
12. Sweet Home Chicago – Jean-Jacques Milteau
13. St. James Infirmary – Joe Cocker
14. Early In The Morning – Luther Allison
15. Crossroads – Calvin Russel
16. Big Road Blues – Canned Heat
17. The Sky Is Crying – Stevie Ray Vaughn
18. Peur De Rien Blues – Jean-Jaques Goldman
19. Got My Mojo Working – Canned Heat

The spelling of the word “Planete” in the title and the fact that Jean-Jacques Goldman made it on this compilation makes me want to think that this CD was French/German production.
Again, this is just a compilation, which looks like a rather random collection of a few blues and blues-like numbers. But for all the collectors out there, you can actually get Planete Blues 2 – The Best Of Blues Rock here in the States with a little bit of research and luck.
