Mark K says:

Album is great, this is what country pop should sound like. Or at least an example of good country pop music lol. I love how they use the more traditional instruments like banjo, steel, twangy guitar as more of an atmosphere rather than solos and rock type music. Reminds me of beach house or bon iver circa 2011 at times, but she adds in her own country pop songwriting style. Pretty exciting, this could really be the album that can shift country radio to a new experimental sound for the next generation that sturgill, kacey, isbell, stapleton, etc have been creating the last 5 years!

Kristopher Underwood says:

Great review! High Horse, Space Cowboy, and Oh, What a World would be my top three with Rainbow coming in at four.

DJMeCa says:

Your last video/your performance is actually my favorite video you’ve done. You really should do more of those! You rock! 🙂

space cowboy was a real surprise, i was expecting a fun track based on the title alone but it’s actually meant to be read like “space, cowboy”. it’s a really heartbreaking breakup song. a great one. great album too

7915thomas says:

Great review. Although Space Cowboy is not about a break up, it’s allowing her new husband space and to live his life as he wishes. The album is a perfect mix of Fleetwood Mac, Dolly Parton and The Beautiful South. Can’t wait to see her Iive in Bristol in the autumn.

Zack Kephart says:

You didn’t know you had the day off of work … ha. If it makes you feel better, I went to school today thinking I had classes.

I think the part of your video that stuck out the most was the genre debate thing. Up until a year and a half ago, I cared greatly for Country to mean something, and like you, I’m torn on the issue. I agree Country has to mean something, but does anyone really know what it means? I don’t this is a “non-Country” album per se, but is it Country? Idk. I do know I like it though.
