makistrator maki says:

you came for this 12:15

Roger S says:

That part in the beginning of Ya Mama seems to be an homage to that skit on Black Sheep’s first album that precedes the og version of “The Choice Is Yours”.

Alen G says:

Man, you have no idea, I listened to this album a couple days ago and I woke up today with 4 Better Or 4 Worse stuck in my head. What a coincidence.

CORC says:

TheCrunchySopa says:

ah man this album is very nostalgic for me. obviously to many heads it has the stamp of being a cult classic, lots like it more than Labcabincalifornia BUT for me I wouldn’t say that. I love the matured content, more darker prod./mid-tempo joints bit more compared to their debut. I like both for diff reasons though. anyways on this lp it has that juvenile goofin off n whimsical fun, uptempo blast joints. love the sample selections too, a very East Coast boom bap influenced feel. a hint of a jazzy feel, plus the hardknock drums etc. their rhyme content n style reminiscent of the Hiero crew imo but much less braggadocio. anyways good review n track-by-track breakdown. Peace!

SuperOldschool1994 says:

Also one thing to note is that the OG pressing vinyl for this album included extra elements to the beat on “I’m That Type Of Nigga” you may have heard it before, it’s on YouTube, I actually like that version better than the CD version, there’s horns during the verses which fills the instrumental out more. I have the reissue of Bizarre Ride II The Pharcyde on vinyl and it includes the inferior CD version of that song which sucks major shit because the only way to listen to that version physically is to shell out $80 for an original 1992 pressing on vinyl which SUCKS. Also “Passin’ Me By” is uncensored on the OG vinyl version. Great review man.

LaRel Damai Price says:

This album was a classic. My favorite album from The Pharcyde. I enjoyed this a little more than their second album. Which was a classic album as well.

blackturkdog says:

Underrated. Very ahead of their time. Had too much pop appeal f o r the “purists” to appreciate them.
