Classic
Great review of a classic album as always Immob. Of course for true blue fans of the golden era, “Breaking Atoms” set the standard for sampling in boom bap hip-hop. Question though, was Dr. Butcher Large Professor’s protege? Always wondered that.
“Atom” was sooooo dope, you trippin!
You were thinking of Superlover Cee & Casanova Rud from Astoria Projects. Famous for “Do The James” and “Girls I Got Em Locked”
Snake Eyes, Just Hangin Out, Looking At The Front Door, Large Professor, Just A Friendly Game Of Baseball, Peace Is Not The Word To Play, Vamos A Rapiar, and Live At The Barbeque are all dope classic joints.
yep this is a quintessential Golden Era/early 90s East Coast album. not too rugged in prod. or content, not too heavy on a conscious tip either. in a lighthearted vain n style similar to likes of: early Native Tongues, 3rd Bass, UMC’s 1st lp ,Special Ed, even Positive K type stuff at that time. gotta love Large Pro’s imprints all over this lp. Dope piano or horns/jazzy tip sample selections, if memory serve me right an even mix of uptempo fitting breakbeats, some stripped down joints but album keeps a cheery atmosphere. then the ill scratching n cuts throughout the album. *when that shit was still prevalent on Hip-Hop albums lol. good review yo, nice to see u back. I still steady peep ya new vids, I just ain’t commented in forever haha.
Love this album so much that when i go to transfer music in my phone i always put this album in it sometimes i dont even think about
Dope this album is definitely a classic
Another great review classic so many tracks on this album I loved production was amazing all 3 of them had talent I actually preferred the 2nd main source l.p. beat wise though
Great review bruh!! One of my favorite albums of all time!!
2 videos in 1,day and 2 dope albums and a dope youtuber can’t go wrong with that
Nice review my dude… yeah k-kut and sir scratch are from Toronto Canada.. I’m from Canada so we know them really well. They use to do shows with Maestro Fresh Wes up here back around the early 90s… U ever heard of Maestro Fresh Wes? He is our Rakim to make a comparison. I first heard this album in the early 2000’s cause that album was not distributed up here in Canada.
Think is on the import cd version
