Classic Jazz Album Review #2

Blue Note, Eric Dolphy, Wayne Shorter

daddysensei Silver says:

I bought Out to Lunch on cd many years ago because of the association with Mingus. I hate it and never play it. i’m not a free jazz guy. To each his own.

The Vinylverse says:

Great video! It definitely took me quite a few listens to start getting into Out To Lunch. I don’t own it on cd or vinyl, yet, but I plan on picking it up. Free Jazz/Avant-garde definitely is not for everyone and I find a lot of it quite confusing and unlistenable but Out To Lunch is a great one. I find if I focus on Anthony (Tony) Williams that’s when I get the most enjoyment out of it. JuJu and Speak No Evil have been on my want list for sometime. Wayne Shorter is terrific. Black Market by Weather report is such a good listen. This was another cool review, Bradley. Keep them coming because I quite enjoy them.
