Comments

Titus Andronicus says:

What a piece of crap

Yoshi Wall says:

Please do Black Saint and the Sinner Lady, Love Supreme, Newport or Monk’s Dream

Sparking 102 says:

This album is fucking crazy, but I love it.

Drew B says:

It’s not jazz; it’s social music

Balázs Kiss says:

The missing space between ‘Davis’ and the ‘-‘ hurts my eyes.

Atio Stefony Jara says:

I am just gettin into this record and yes it´s a bit hard at first but you can tell there´s a lot of color on it to be experience .
I Love the “Live evi”l very mucho wath about that one Antony?

William Bann says:

it’s a bit of a stretch to say that Miles had a lot to do with the invention of bebop, i mean he was there and all, but it was like his first real shot at anything and he was mostly just playing along at that point.

Classical Music11 says:

Just curious but why do your videos skip occasionally?

Seven Sevens says:

I love Bitches Brew! It’s brilliant. It just flows so well-particularly Pharaoh’s Dance.

Jim says:

My fav Miles record’s either On the Corner or Dark Magus. For me that abstract stuff needs be grounded in rhythm.

Kyle Mac says:

You can see the green screen when you wave your hand in front of it.

octemberfury says:

I also prefer In a Silent Way. Bitches Brew gets tiring after a while.

MegaSnippezz says:

You should review Bill Evans’ Undercurrent

I still love this review so much dear God just the opening alone

FACT, Billy Cobham WAS NOT ON THIS ALBUM. Get your facts right!!!

Micah Young says:

Review Filles de Kilimanjaro or Get Up With It by Miles Davis! Then review Rock Bottom by Robert Wyatt

Matt Melchin21 says:

I don’t understand the appeal in these albums with songs that are longer than 20 minutes. I can’t really get an appreciate for a song if it just goes on for almost half the length of most albums

Josh Henderson says:

Nice review melon!

Francis Saylors says:

This is the first time I’ve come across a theneedledrop comment section that wasn’t loaded with memes and cancer. For obvious reasons, I think, but still it’s awesome to see actual musical discussion and comments on youtube.

Billy, From the Produce Section says:

It’s funny how every time people mention Bitches Brew they kinda diss it for sounding bad. I’ve always thought it sounded great. Even as a kid when I didn’t really like “challenging” music.

MattieCooper says:

Yeah, it’s a MASTERPIECE!

Andrew Bailey says:

I hope you are well Anthony Fantastic. I hope you are well.

Lego Vortex says:

I just dont get it… Must have to be in the right frame of mind i guess…to me it not a easy listen or pleasurable experience

horace0104 says:

The album is not for everyone. However, it’s the gold standard that everyone tried to copy in “fusion” jazz. To attempt to label this album is a fruitless endeavor. It’s meant to be listened from beginning to end. It is a masterpiece that stands on its own.

Lunar Orbit says:

love miles but this isn’t my favorite album by him

William Campbell Pepper says:

I never got why people like Miles Davis so much. But then again I don’t really ‘get’ Jazz,..; pretty jaded with most music. Is it really his style of playing trumpet that’s so great though or more his writing people like?

Ellie Anne says:

One of my favorite reviews you’ve done. I’m genuinely so happy you’ve done a review for Bitches Brew; like some other commenters have suggested, I definitely agree you should definitely do more jazz reviews. ‘Bitches Brew’ is one of my favorite albums of all time, I do agree it is prominently very improv heavy. It was hard to listen to at first (this was about a year or two ago), I wasn’t used to his chaotic yet orchestrated clash of instruments, but I’ve grown a fond appreciation for it as I’ve matured. I feel like a lot of his improv heavy songs tell a kind of story and each time it becomes silent and transitions into a different beat, I imagine the climax to a story transitioning into the aftermath. Miles is a risk taker and a creative rebel in the jazz world and will always be one of my favorite musicians/artists. Thanks again so much for this!!

William Bann says:

great great review

Joey Sung says:

He’s really good at talking about music!

Tyler McMahon says:

Anyone else feel a Symphonie Fantastique vibe?

Bryan Begay says:

Want to make a time machine, and send Sunn to add another layer of noise!

KushyCrunch says:

Bitches Love Bitches Brew

Justin Ransom says:

Review your hairline as of 2017

Alan Pfeifer says:

Check out the Five Peace Band record if you’re a big fan of Chick Corea/John McLaughlin

Ben says:

One of my favorite albums

Jack Valentine says:

Micah Young says:

The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady by Charles Mingus

Alfred Sekoere says:

nominal name says:
