Comments

Philippe Clement says:

@theneedledrop Kamasi did not play on the real McCoy from McCoy Tyner

Roberto Zarrabal says:

Music nerd but doesn’t understand music at all and can’t play a fucking instrument. Stop feeding a troll like this guy.

EarthEagleGT says:

Took my 3 days to finish this Album, but it was worth it!

severi saaristo says:

I think there could be just slightly more diversity on this album, but it’s still a pretty amazing album so I do agree with 9/10 for this almost a masterpiece.

Matviy Berezovskiy says:

Why not 10?

Jerry Seinfeld says:

doesn’t this guy do meme reviews?

MrOddmann says:

I just type in the name of your channel and put jazz behind it and bam!
Great Jazz! Thanks!

sun says:

You’re a beefcake and I like it :)

HeavyDirtySoulz says:

the rhythm changes will always be one of my all time favorites

Christian charles says:

Kamasi and Kendrick should hook up.

Christian charles says:

Kamasi, Robert Glasper, Terrace Martin, K.dot, BBNG, Tame Impala, Thunder & Flylo are who I’ll definitely listen to by the time I’m 100. :)

Diatonic5th says:

Good solid album! Nothing revolutionary or ground breaking here, but it’s a great throwback to what McCoy Tyner and Pharoah Sander were doing in the early 70’s.

DazeOfWar says:

Beautiful record. Just beautiful in every aspect. Pure artistic and musical genius with every note. Thank you so much for introducing this record in 2015.

Milan Rodriguez says:

fuck you anthony fantano

Szymon Turczynowicz-Suszycki says:

Thanks Anthony. After this review I decided to buy a vinyl version of this marvellous record.

Julián Moreyra says:

Boring as fuck.

Dan Derbridge says:

You know nothing about jazz dude. Please review all your punk, indy and hip hop stuff for your little fans. That’s all.

John Kaufmann says:

The Piano Solo by Cameron Graves on Magnificent 7 is just absolutely mind blowing! Should have been pointed out in the review! In addition to Kamasi being flat out amazing? How about the drumming of Ronald Bruner Jr & Tony Austin throughout also!

Mokay says:

i wish you gave it a strong 9 i mean come on ! but this review was good for a 3 hour album, it is kind of hard to notice and pic everything out from the music, there is just mass amounts of music in it ! But i wish you could split the review into 2 parts so we can go more into detail, even better if you did it in 3 :-) Love ya keep going !

HeavyDirtySoulz says:

I’m assuming Anthony listens to the epic and then to pimp a butterfly, quite similar

edge60able says:

You should review Ambrose Akinmusrie’s new album

Christian charles says:

This album was difficult to listen to…:)…..because 1 listen per song was NOT ENOUGH! REPLAY!

InfiniteMoney says:

Coming from a huge rap fan but I think this was album of the year 2015.

ikeehw says:

Thanks for the mini review.
I didn’t want it to be spoiled at all before I listened to it.

blue47er says:

Big it up with as many adjectives you can summon up from your exhaustible supply of neologisms delivered with exaggerated vocal stress, but no matter your interminable prolixity, the music is essentially pop, and has but the merest tinge of ‘jazz’. Those who really want something rhythmically, molodically, harmonically rewarding and satisfying will need to look elsewhere. Try something from Sun Ra who had real talent.
