tender meat says:

You must hate Megadeth so far so good was way better than pussy ass 7th son and justice for all

Erick Rincon says:

Wheres the black metal!!!?
This was their year… y’all disappoint all the time.

RavenCheeky says:

Report anyone from the last video who voted for Metallica. Not a great album and nowhere near better than anything else in the top 4.

ronbent says:

Jesus, no SFSGSW? What a disgrace

Shawn Green says:

Can’t wait until 1990!!!

Leo Correa says:

My favorite of 1988 is “Voivod – Dimension Hatross”. o

Todd Williams says:

Mindcrime is head and shoulders above the rest of the list. Classic metal with a touch of Rush, and a touch of Pink Floyd, with flourishes of power metal and thrash. Epic. Brilliant. Best. Album. Ever. Maybe… Definitely Top Ten.

szkcs says:

it’s a shame that Crimson Glory’s masterpiece Transcendence didn’t make the list, nor Testament’s New Order …

Three says:

He’s talking shit on ….And Justice For All. wtf. That’s my fav record by them. Great record.

Tom Wheeler says:

So Far, So Good…So What!

StyxHitlerHammer 10.2 says:

How did they miss Fates Warning, Ozzy, Manowar, Danzig, and Crimson Glory?

Anthony Rivers says:

So far so good so what

allmetalrules666 says:

WTF… No honorable mention to So Far So Good So What?

Felipe Coronel says:

No mention for:
Megadeth – So Far, So Good… So What?
Overkill – Under The Influence
Anthrax – State Of Euphoria
Flotsam And Jetsam – No Place For Disgrace
Coroner – Punishment For Decadence

TheStallionforce says:

Strange song choice for Queensryche — almost like you wanted to make them sound bad?

The Intuitive GUITARIST says:

SithMan1776 says:

Hey….didn’t Jethro Tull have a big album come out in 88?

Grant Bosch says:

I love Def Leppard. But yeah it’s not heavy metal.

NoDak Savage says:

Did you just fucking rick roll us??? lol

Aaron Wilbers says:

Ghosts of War is just devastating and my favorite off a record of classics.

David Cooper says:

1 King Diamond – Them
2 Pestilence – Malleus Maleficarum
3 Coroner – Punishment For Decadence
4 Helloween – Keeper Of The Seven Keys II
5 Death – Leprosy
my octogenarian parents probably still know all the songs from me flogging these 5 to death

Johnnie Bee says:

Good shit man, never understood Voivod’s appeal, it just sounds like disorganized noise

jlopez47 says:

How did you pass over Silent Scream onto Ghosts of War as the most under-rated song on South of Heaven? Ghosts of War is a copy of Chemical Warfare. Silent Scream is pretty original.

jlopez47 says:

Testament New Order, Megadeth So Far So Good So What, Coronor, Punishment for Deacadence, Vio-Lence Eternal Nightmare are all better albums than …And Justice For All. It was nowhere near as good as Master of Puppets. You guys suck.

J H says:

Danzig 1

wkr64691 says:

South of heaven is slayers finest hour in my opinion

Silent scream at the big four show is one of my favorite concert experiences ever

José Lacerda says:

You can’t talk about 1988 and miss Riot’s Thundersteel. It’s a sin.

Toltech1 says:

reminds me of Jr High. Had all of these on cassette, except for Death. Never a big fan of death metal.

The Intuitive GUITARIST says:

Frank Reid says:

Manowar-Kings of Metal was not even mentioned. Most of you who voted are complete posers. How do you forget one of the greatest heavy metal albums of all time from one of the greatest metal bands of all time? Shame on all of you!

Patrick William says:

I’d say Leprosy followed by Blood Fire Death

Krysztau says:

1. Iron Maiden – Seventh son of aa Seventh son
2. Megadeth – So far, So good… So what
3. Metallica – …And Justice for All
4. Running Wild – Port Royal
5. Slayer – South of Heaven / Testament – The New Order

The Classic Heavy Metal Vault says:

Great Albums not even mentioned…

Fates Warning – No Exit
Blind Guardian – Battalions Of Fear
Coroner – Punishment For Decadence
Sabbat – History of a Time To Come
Megadeth – So Far So Good…So What?

Eric Adams says:

Fates Warning’s No Exit is heavier and better than Queensryche’s Operation Mindcrime(still love Mindcrime though).

Bob Forest says:

Infest – Slave ep

BingusButt420 says:

This dude gives me the vibe that if it isn’t death metal, it’s not metal…

SithMan1776 says:

Dude….I know Justice has weird production, but it’s still one of my all time faves! It’s way better than the black album imo.

B schuler says:

Definitely agree with this list. MindCrime is a masterpiece. South of Heaven is one of the best Slayer albums. Leprosy is probably THE seminal Death Metal album.
I would put Suicidal Tendencies’ How Will I Laugh Tomorrow above Metallica. Also, So Far, So Good…So What? Is my favorite MegaDeth album, but I guess it’s a toss up with …And Justice…
