Nice selection guys (especially Outre Tombe), enjoyed watching. But you have to update your list(s) :-). These 2 exceptionally good records have to be mentioned:
Sulphur Aeon:
Chapel Of Disease:

Stonedead1991 says:

Morne – To the Night Unknown is an incredible record.

An Angel Ascending says:

Oceans Of Slumber – The Banished Heart
Rivers Of Nihil – Where Owls Know My Name
Zeal & Ardor – Stranger Fruit
Amorphis – Queen Of Time
Ghost – Prequelle

Honorable Mention: Madder Mortem – Marrow

For more 2018 recommends here’s a handy playlist of all the albums we rated 4.5 or 5 this year:

Paul Leach says:

“It’s Pre-school” lol XD

pak40l46 says:

Add anything by Aldious, Mary’s Blood, Ningen Isu or LoveBites and then we can talk. I gave up on American metal.

The Negan Guy says:

My three favourites where
Horrendous – Idol
Judas Priest – Firepower
Behemoth – I Love You at Your Darkest

Comment Guy says:

Def agree with Rivers of Nihil, The silent life is def a volume 11 choice once that double bass kicks in.

Jeremy Wolfers says:

Worst thing is that Sulphur Aeon released the stream of their new album a couple of days after this video and it’s definitely one of the best death metal albums of the year

Jetro Suo says:

Conjurer – Mire
BAEST – Danse Macabre

Matthew Roberts says:

I like the variety

amstel 54 says:

That french band sounds like old Entombed. I’m all in!!!

Gentleman Farmer says:

The cookie monster is strong with these ones.

unanutriainfame says:

Outre Tombe artowork reminds me a lot “In The Nightside Eclipse”.

Mc wH says:

You missed Kalmah – Palo

Tiago Banguelo says:

I’m completly out of tune of the kind of stuff they picked this year. Last year

TheRoadAhead says:

Sarah the only one know knows what the fucks up

XlouietheflyX says:

For me it’s a tie between Fórn ‘Rites of Despair’ and Mournful Congregation ‘Incubus of Karma’, but the new Evoken was also awesome and I am digging this Outre Tombe record

omgvampirescme says:

Oceans of Slumber – The Banshied Heart was my favorite metal album this year too.

Kerry Colwell says:

Man, I’ve spent so much of the year diving into the old black and death metal bands that influence today’s extreme metal that I haven’t really bothered to check out any new metal coming out this year. The only new albums that have been on my radar at all was the Rivers of Nihil album and Behemoth’s I Loved You at Your Darkest. Looks like I have some catching up to do, and thanks for giving me a starting point.

Kyle Kemp says:

Would have to be that new ingested album for me.

By far Judas Priest – Firepower

David Jenson says:

Most everything mentioned here sounds awfully boring. The Frontierer sounds really interesting, and I will check that out. I will check out the Rivers Of Nihil, too, but I absolutely hate saxophones.

sludgeon says:

Kriegsmaschine – Apocalypticists
Thou – Magus
The Ocean – Phanerozoic I: Palaeozoic

Wilford Grimley says:

Alkaloid. Btbam. Sleep.

LostinOC says:

BANGERTV – All Metal 95% of people never heard of.

Yose Dutto says:

Agree 100% with Dekay: Cruel Magic is an amazing album!

LostinOC says:

The Browning – Geist is better than the “metalcore” guy’s pick. Lord of the Lost – Thornstar, is better than the “goth chick’s” pick. also, where is the Architects – Holy Hell?

Brian Wright says:

It is amazing how broad the genre of metal is that you can have so many varied releases and they all fall under the umbrella of metal. That is why it is the best musical genre. Most of my favorites didn’t even get a mention. Yob, Sleep, Forming the Void, Horrendous, Spaceslug, Uncle Acid, Khemmis…

Demetri Kirchberg says:

Hell Yes Tribulation! Jamming so hard to them. Pissed at myself for not having them in my library sooner.

Fernando Navarrete Navarro says:

Michael Romeo – War of the Worlds Pt. 1

Erik Ekholm says:

Crystal Lake – AEON. Enough said.

Jasonas Skopas says:

Tribulation lol…seems like every chick digs that band

Víctor Alonso Heriberto Aguirre Galindo says:

Where the fuck is THE SCIENCES-SLEEP ?

Aris Panagiotopoulos says:

Sarah’s presentation was by far the best, she had a shout out to her favorites plus we listened to a bit of her year favorite from her vinyl, awesome! Then again Sarah is awesome anyway so…

Max Otto says:

I know it s mainstream, but for me Judas Priest FIREPOWER takes the cake

2) Sleep – The Sciences
3) Alien Weaponry – Tū

Вечный Странник says:

Immortal-Northern Chaos Gods-!, Wulkanaz-Wttulkanaz-!, Clandestine Blaze-Tranquility of Death-!, Occelensbrigg-The Quest for the Star Mountain-!

IRONJAY Retacco says:

SNOWNY SHAW only good one Here

Edward Christensen says:

Where is Voivods “The Wake”??????

Blackgold1155 says:

I used to say I listened to metal, but this channel and video makes me realize I only listen to rock. I haven’t heard of any of these bands. Hopefully that’s ok with you all.

IRONJAY Retacco says:

Jr says:

This new At The Gates is missing energy. The drum has no stamina at all in my humble opinion.

Dirceu Rodrigues says:

Which song ended the video?

My fav album of this year is “The Outer Ones” by Revocation.

Daniel Harper says:
