Awesome review bro…. Love the album. Been KoRN fansince 95…as a 12 yr old kid, nobody could touch KoRN. Followed them there whole career….Been a long strange trip for sure…. Get so pumped anytime we get new music from any of the members, some more than others….But this album is amazing….thx JD.
Also great review…
This is my favorite review for JD’s Black Labyrinth so far! You’ve done your research, you understand the lyrical content. You understand who he is. You have all of the key points here that, in my opinion, allows you to give a full & honest review! Great Job! I enjoy the album as well! Cheers!
Cool, I will have to check it out.
I never knew he went solo until few months ago. Love Jonathan from his personal approach to his lyrics like the early Korn material. So deep, emotional yet raw. Love the 90’s Korn the most.
Dont know why, neither this or Korn gets my Metal sence dingling if you know what i mean :S
Musically not my cup of tea,but I always loved his voice and lyrics.
Great review
First time watching your channel and man, i loved the format of this review, made for a really nice change from the usual sitting-still-in-a-room-staring-at-camera style of reviews. Plus the review itself was superb, loved the in depth discussion and agreed with a lot of your points. So far i’d personally rate it a 9/10, i was a little worried that it wouldn’t live up to my high expectations of Jonathan and/or Korn simply due to how undeniably unique he is, but it slightly exceeded them I dare say. On a side note i found it interesting that you thought What you believe sounded like it would fit on the Paradigm shift, I instantly found it to be extremely similar to one of the more industrial leaning tracks from See you on the other side, specifically Love song.
Another excellent review and I’m really looking forward to your Kanye one as like you I couldn’t name a song so should be interesting.
I also of course must give you massive thanks for both reading and recommending my blog. High praise indeed from the one and only freetobe…
Fantastic review man! You’re one of the few people that can trace and name the 80s gothic influences in Jon’s work. It s crazy but i was hooked on Korn not only for the heaviness but for the gothic influences as well. Also thought medicate is by far the greatest song here and probably one of the greatest that Jon wrote.
