Richly atmospheric. Confident changes. Complex feelings. A sense of mystery.

JazzPianoObsessed says:

I first heard this album a few years back, it was way too much for me. Since walking away and getting on with my life, I have been exposed to other stuff. One of the things I love listening to is modulator synth music and (I don’t know how to describe this) circuit bent music, if you can even call it music. Now, after several months of being exposed to those weird sounds, I’ve come back to this, and by complete accident am really enjoying this . (but maybe there is no accident; the other stuff probably opened up my ears)

ICONS of this time and place, communicating with music, gifted musicians, inspirational, soulful and in-tune with the almighty; SADLY never to be together again; this is a studio album however the energy is magnificent, can you imagine LIVE.

sauce.

offisk dahl says:

Miles was always learning and pushing forward. With the sidemen around him he could mold and challenge his younger counterparts and make new music that would reflect the socio-historical context in which the music was made. I was sad the day he died. Sanctuary is so wonderful to hear during the time of twilight.in a place like the Taconic parkway in the valley of the Adirondacks in NY state..

Günther Zwahlen says:

One of countless examples how a work can be sophisticated AND comercionaly sucessfull AND even be groundbreaking! “You need controled freedom” Miles used to say long before this. Form is groove, one of the most important aspects in african american music!

For those who are still wondering about it: the point of uploading this video on yt was to spread Miles’ music. That’s it. Those who still think that the uploader can earn money from a copyrighted content, well, they’d better read YouTube settings and rules. If it’s too hard to look for this kind of information, search among the comments below. I wrote some kind of summary.

And since someone is still talking about ads and all that…if you’re complaining about ads, I see what you mean, but think that you’re listening to this music for free. Don’t you want ads, I’ll suggest you something: go and buy a copy of Bitches Brew. It sounds even better than on YouTube.

This album helps me understand the salsa-jazz relationship. I’ve listened part of this melody in a song called “Guaguacó del Adiós” by Roberto Roena. I believe not many people who like salsa understand this relationship.
